If you’ve been with SingleTrack for a while, you might’ve sensed something brewing behind the scenes. A tweak. A shift. A glow-up, even.

Well…here it is. We’re reintroducing ourselves.

Yes, the name is the same. Yes, the services are the same: business tax returns, monthly bookkeeping, annual financial checkups. But how we show up for you? That part is changing in a big, joyful way.

Because we realized something: the old business model wasn’t built for the kind of support-centric, high-touch, “we’re actually-part-of-your-team” experience we believe small business owners deserve.

It rewarded volume, not connection. Speed, not clarity. Tasks, not people.

And that is the exact opposite of who we are.

So let’s talk about what’s changing, why, and who the number crunchers running this thing really are.

Why We’re Changing Our Business Model

When Matt and Bryan bought SingleTrack in August 2024, they assumed they were simply stepping into a well-oiled bookkeeping and tax firm with friendly prices and straightforward deliverables.

Then they realized something uncomfortable: those low prices came at a cost.

And that cost was support, kindness, patience, education, and actually helping you understand your business—all the things we love most about being accountants and advisors.

We don’t want to be the accountants you’re afraid to email.
We want to be the accountants you actually talk to.

We want to help the motivated, creative, non-numbers-people who want to run great businesses but just need someone to make the financial stuff less scary.

So we’re restructuring to deliver:

  • More hands-on support
  • More proactive communication
  • More empathy
  • More time to walk you through the confusing stuff
  • More “hey, no dumb questions—ask away!”

Yes, this means pricing is changing. But so is the experience. Dramatically.

So… What Actually Changes for You?

Short answer: the experience.

Longer answer:

  • No surprise bills. Want to ask something out of scope? Ask. If there’s a cost, we’ll tell you. If it’s quick, we’ll help for free.
  • No more “should I feel bad for asking this?” energy. You’re allowed to need help. We like helping.
  • More hand-holding when you want it. Payroll? Sales tax? Owner pay? We’ll help you learn it. And we’ll explain it again if you forget. And again if you really forget.
  • More checking in proactively. We want you to feel guided, not abandoned.

We help small businesses because the world is a little scary and money stuff is a lot scary. You shouldn’t have to figure this out alone.

Meet the Founders (AKA: The Guys Behind the Yes)

Matt: The Accountant Who Always Knew

Matt grew up in Virginia and—brace yourself—wanted to be an accountant from the start. (We know. Wild.)*
He worked at a big firm, then a medium firm, and then realized he wanted to work with real humans, not just spreadsheets with names. Now he gets to do that every day at SingleTrack.

*Matt said “why is that weird?” when proofreading this post

Bryan: The Recovering Suit Man

Bryan is from Pennsylvania and comes from the world of management at an NYC investment bank. He managed teams, wore fancy suits, did big-deal things.
Then he had a midlife crisis.
So he started… an ice cream business. As one does.
Eventually he realized the perfect happy medium was running an accounting firm for businesses who actually need help. He’s the one who “wears the pants,” and yes, we let him say that.

Together, we’re two people who genuinely like helping the little guy.

Why say no when saying yes feels so good?

What This Means for the Future of SingleTrack

We’ll be the same firm you hired—just better.

The same services.
But more care.
More clarity.
More patience.
More support.
And more partnership.

We want you to think of us as part of your team—not a vendor.

Pricing changes are part of this shift, but they’re only one piece of the puzzle. The real change is the level of attention, guidance, and empathy we’re building into everything we do.

This is SingleTrack—but finally aligned with who we actually are.
